Part V

《Chasing》の First day Part V
Airport > I-Lodge GH > Khmer Kitchen Restaurant (Lunch) > Angkor Archeological Park Admission Pass > Phnom Bahkeng 巴肯山 > Blue Pumpkin (Dinner)
This post would be my photo album at Phnom Bahkeng.
Enjoy~

Here's are some tips of Phnom Bahkeng from web.
Phnom Bahkeng Temple

Phnom Bahkeng is one of the oldest temples in the city of Angkor which was built late 9th century. Phnom Bakheng was the state temple of the city during this early period, and was the first mountain-style temple built at Angkor. It designed to represent Mount Meru, home of Hindu gods. Despite its great historical and architectual importance, Bahkeng's hilltop location makes Phnom Bakheng the most popular sunset location in the area, offering a view of the Tonle Sap Lake and a distance Angkor Wat in the jungle.

The sky getting darker, we have no fate with Angkor's sunset, eeee....
Love this view~

於是, so..

The tower is going to collapse..

Crowd started to disperse, and the serenity arised. Looked into the watch, 5pm already. There's come a local telling us it's time to leave, before the sky getting darker and darker. Well, we obediantly leaving of course. Oh oo..Again, the huge steepy stone stair..

How steepy? See it urself!

Hmm..I think I should have more exercise already. Because, my legs nearly cramped! aiiizzz...

So, we went down from the hill..

All the way exhaustedly up and down the uneven slope and the steepy stair, merely to have a view of Angkor's sunset. Yet, thick cloud spread over the sky, appreciating the little sunset glow. Not regretting, as in Phnom Bahkeng, I have my first experience of such an assemble of tourist at a same spot, waiting for sunset visit... By the way, I will stepped on Phnom Bahkeng again whenever there is my 2nd trip to Angkor~

Part IV

《Chasing》の First day Part IV
Airport > I-Lodge GH > Khmer Kitchen Restaurant (Lunch) > Angkor Archeological Park Admission Pass > Phnom Bahkeng 巴肯山 > Blue Pumpkin (Dinner)
Finally and finally, our very first travel point was going to start! After our admission pass were checked, we entered the Angkor Archeological Park area~ Our first spot is Phnom Bahkeng, which located atop a hill. Sitting on the Tuk-tuk, passing along lumpy raggy path, finally we reached the foot of the hill at around 5pm. Phnom Bahkeng is a temple which is a popular tourist spot for sunset view. Our mission now is climb up to the hill, and captured the view of sunset~ Oo..climb up huh~

Foot of the Phnom Bahkeng's hill

Whuah..So tall, the tree!

Suddenly, something just grasped my attention and breath. Wa..so big..it just passed by us, gently, slowly, GAYA-ly..Phew. By the way, it should scare of me! Hehe..Coz i'm a little mouse *jizjiz* Yea yea, it is our beloved Benjamin, the Elephant! Why these mighty creature were here? Oh yea, because the local people were so considerate in riding these elephants to bring the tourists up to the hill. Phew~ *Price: Go up hill $20, Go up and down $35!

The guy sitting on the elephant like nobody business. Many tourists just like this gal, hehe =p

"Hey, give me 20 bug, I ride u up la!"

See, no worries!

There are 2 ways to go up the hill. The road on the left is specially for Elephant to walk through. It is slippery and steep as can see. For the right side, it is for HUMAN like us to walk up to the hill. However, in the middle, there is a road as well, is straight UP to the hill, might be used by former people many years ago. But, currently was prohibited to use the road. Why? you will know later..

"BECAREFUL(L)" of elephant =P

Neh, this is the middle road! DARE to?

Okay, after finishing wit-wet around, it's time for us to move up!

Part III

《Chasing》の First day Part III

Airport > I-Lodge GH > Khmer Kitchen Restaurant (Lunch) > Angkor Archeological Park Admission Pass > Phnom Bahkeng 巴肯山 > Blue Pumpkin (Dinner)
它就在Old Market和Pub Street之間。
3pm in the evening, we were settling down and ready to go for our first lunch in Siem Reap. Pete and Neang arrived at the appointed time, waiting for us infront of the guest house. The weather was still nice, neither cold nor hot, great~ First lunch, we have chosen "Khmer Kitchen Restaurant", which is one of the favourites from the forums. This restaurant is located just between Pub Street and the Old Market. Its selling point is Homemade style Khmer Food, and of course, the price is consider cheap yo~

Khmer Kitchen Restaurant

Khmer Kitchen Restaurant
Location : Between Old Market & Pub Street
Hours : 10:00 - 22:00
Main Dishes : $3-$5

Simple & clean environment
Why no one inside? Because for them, 3pm for lunch is already VERY late! Fufu~

Price board, don't scare kena cincang! Phew~

Once sitting down, we looked at the menu, slowly choosing our mum mum. We ordered few Khmer food to try out. For rice, it was served with all the foods ordered, hehe..

While waiting for food, found something interesting!

The fan's design looked so cute! Will it be cooler?

ANGKOR BEER ordered by J
Never Drink Never Come~ -quote by J

First meal in Siem Reap!

Below are our orders and price ~
Pork Amok - $3.00
Lok Lak Beef - $3.00
Spring Roll (5) - $1.50
Long Bean Omelette - $0.50
Coke,Paula,Sprite - $1.00 each - $3.00
Angkor Beer - $1.00
Orange Juice (mine) - $1.00
Total Price : $13 => $2.60 per person!

Cheap rite? Upon the above khmer food, J has done some research.

Amok:
This is traditional Cambodia's dishes. It is served in either chicken, pork or fish, and cooked with coconut milk and some spices.
For me, it tasted like Green Curry, hehe..Good to try!

Lok Lak:
Another traditional Cambodia's dishes. Same as Amok, it is served in either chicken, pork or beef, together with special grill sauce, fried eggs and also white rice.

This is my favourite! It tasted a bit like chinese style fried meat with garlic and onion. Dip it in the sauce, wah..PERFECT!

Among the foods, the one which I mostly fond of is the Spring Roll~ It sounded ka ci ka ci while I bite on it, Yummy~

We finished our meal at around 4pm. On the way walk to our Tuk-Tuk, we saw an auntie selling GRILL banana..

Siem Reap snack - GRILL BANANA

Might be of the AJINOMOTO in the foods, or the hot and dry weather, we felt quite thirsty at the moments. So, we asked Pete where can we buy mineral water for a good price. Pete told us NEVER buy it from those convenient shop, because most of them will sell it in higher price. Pete then brought us to THE ONLY ONE LARGEST shopping center in Siem Reap city, to buy mineral water..Hugh uh~
Here it is - "LUCKY" Mall

Something interesting in this mall, which is there are a lot "Lucky" thing inside, such as ~
Lucky Burger!

Lucky Gelato!

However, we didn't buy any "Lucky" stuff. We just bought 8 big mineral water which more than enuf for us in another 4 days time. Hehe..each of it is only cost $0.50. Cheap!

Owh, it gonna be 4.30pm. Without wasting another minutes, we were bought to Angkor Archeological Park main entrance to buy Angkor entrance ticket. Ticket selling started at 4.30pm, so when the time we reached, there are people and a lot more tuk-tuk car gathering in front of the counter.

There are 3 types of ticket: 1 day trip $20, 3 days trip $40, and 1 week trip $60. The ticket we bought is 3 days trip, so each of us need to pay $40. Suddenly isshhh..$$ gone~~ Hugh, those gals who worked over there, presented themselves attentively and courteously in front of the ANG MO. In the other hands, ignoring us! Hugh!!!
By the way, the process is just simply. After we paid $40, we needed to take a leng leng photo in front of the counter. After that, within 5 minutes, we got our PASS~ Yeay~

Tour Pass!

We were told to take care of the PASS and bring it with us all the time when we go for a visit, as it is gonna to be checked everytime we visit those temple within Angkor Archeological Park.
